Niladri Utsav 2026 – Day 09 Highlights

A Beautiful Evening of Semi-Classical Dance and Live Music

The ninth day of Niladri Utsav 2026, held on 25 July 2026 at Shri Thyagraj Jagannath Mandir, New Delhi, continued the festival’s celebration of India’s rich artistic and cultural traditions. The evening brought together the elegance of semi-classical dance and the vibrant energy of live instrumental music, creating a memorable cultural experience for devotees and visitors. The first presentation was by Suroban Kala Mandir, featuring a semi-classical dance mix of Odissi, Kathak and Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Guru Sima Biswas. The performance brought together the distinctive grace, rhythm and expressive storytelling of three celebrated Indian dance traditions. By blending these classical and semi-classical forms, the artists presented a captivating artistic journey that reflected India’s diverse cultural heritage. The programme was followed by a live instrumental presentation by Manoranjika School of Music, under the mentorship of Guru Manoranjandey. The musical performance added a different dimension to the evening, allowing the audience to experience the beauty and emotion of Indian instrumental music. Together, the dance and music presentations created an atmosphere filled with rhythm, devotion and artistic expression.

Distinguished Guests and a Celebration of Cultural Heritage

Day 09 was further honoured by the presence of distinguished guests, including Neeraj Basoya, MLA; Dr. Ashish Kumar Dash; Dr. R.K. Yadav, MBBS (AIIMS); and Prof. Brajesh Kumar Pandey, JNU. Their presence added significance to the cultural gathering and reflected the participation of distinguished personalities from public service, medicine and academia. The evening demonstrated how dance and music can bring people together while preserving India’s diverse artistic traditions. The combination of Odissi, Kathak, Bharatanatyam and live instrumental music showcased the richness of Indian performing arts and created a meaningful connection between tradition and contemporary cultural presentation. At Shri Thyagraj Jagannath Mandir, the celebrations also carried a spiritual dimension, with artists and audiences coming together under the divine blessings of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath. Day 09 of Niladri Utsav 2026 therefore became another memorable chapter in the festival, celebrating artistic excellence, cultural unity and the timeless heritage of Indian classical and semi-classical arts.
