Distinguished Guests and a Celebration of Odia Culture

The fourth day of Niladri Mahotsav 2026, held on 20 July 2026 at Shri Thyagraj Jagannath Mandir, New Delhi, was enriched by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Manmohan Samal, President of BJP Odisha; Chittaranjan Dash, Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer; Mr. Girish Chandra Murmu, former IAS officer; and Sujit Kumar, Member of Parliament. Their presence added significance to the celebration and reflected the importance of preserving and promoting Odisha’s rich cultural heritage in the national capital. The cultural programme brought together traditional dance forms from Odisha and Delhi, offering devotees and visitors a memorable evening of art, devotion and heritage. The first presentation featured a 30-minute traditional Mahari and Geeta Govinda dance from Odisha, presented under the guidance of Guru Bhimsen. Rooted in Odisha’s devotional traditions and closely associated with the spiritual heritage of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath, the performance showcased the grace, expressions and storytelling of traditional Odissi culture. The programme was followed by a 30-minute Kathak dance performance by Kalanjali, Delhi, mentored by Guru Muskan Nagpal. Through rhythmic footwork, expressive movements and graceful choreography, the performers brought the beauty of Indian classical dance to the Niladri Mahotsav stage. Together, these performances created a meaningful cultural exchange between Odisha’s traditional devotional arts and Delhi’s vibrant classical dance community. Day 04 of Niladri Mahotsav 2026 celebrated not only music and dance but also the shared cultural values of devotion, discipline and artistic excellence. The evening served as a beautiful reminder that India’s diverse classical traditions can come together to create an atmosphere of unity, spirituality and cultural pride under the divine blessings of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath.
