Debasnana Purnima & 56 Bhog Mahaprasad 2026 | Shri Jagannath Mandir, Thyagraj Nagar, New Delhi

Jai Jagannath 🙏

Debasnana Purnima, also known as Snana Purnima, is one of the most sacred and spiritually significant festivals dedicated to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Sudarshan. Celebrated with immense devotion by Jagannath devotees across the world, this divine festival marks the ceremonial bathing ritual of the deities before the grand Rath Yatra.

In 2026, Shri Jagannath Mandir, Thyagraj Nagar, New Delhi, warmly invites all devotees and families to participate in the holy celebration of Debasnana Purnima along with the sacred offering of 56 Bhog Mahaprasad on 29th June 2026 (Monday).

This spiritual celebration is not just a festival but an opportunity to experience divine blessings, Jagannath culture, Mahaprasad seva, bhakti, and spiritual peace in the heart of Delhi.

What is Debasnana Purnima?

Debasnana Purnima is the ceremonial bathing festival of Lord Jagannath. On this auspicious day, the deities are brought to the Snana Bedi (bathing platform) in a grand ritual known as “Pahundi.” They are then bathed with 108 pots of sacred and purified water amidst Vedic chants, bhajans, conch sounds, and devotional celebrations.

According to tradition, after the grand bathing ceremony, the deities fall ill and remain away from public darshan for a few days before appearing again during the Rath Yatra festival. This makes Debasnana Purnima emotionally and spiritually important for devotees.

Divine 56 Bhog Mahaprasad

One of the major attractions and spiritual highlights of the event is the offering of “56 Bhog” or “Chhappan Bhog” to Mahaprabhu Jagannath.

The 56 Bhog represents devotion, gratitude, surrender, and sacred food offerings prepared with purity and traditional rituals. The Mahaprasad is considered highly divine and spiritually blessed. Devotees believe that receiving Mahaprasad removes negativity and brings happiness, peace, prosperity, and spiritual blessings.

At Shri Jagannath Mandir, New Delhi, devotees can book 56 Bhog Mahaprasad online and participate in this sacred seva with family and loved ones.
